About the program

The EMS Professions Diploma Program is a 3 semester, intensive training program designed to train entry level Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians for entry into the work force.  The student will take EMSP 1110, EMSP 1120, EMSP 1130 the first semester.  The second semester the student will take EMSP 1140, EMSP 1150, EMSP 1160.  At the completion of the second semester the student will have to pass the NREMT EMT exam.  The last semester is the Advanced EMT classes; EMSP 1510, EMSP 1520, EMSP 1530, and EMSP 1540.  There are two programs, the day program begins in the Spring and the night program begins in the Fall.  There are required co-requisite classes: English 1101 or Communication Skills, Algebra or Technical Math, Structure and Function of the Human Body, Medical Terminology as well as one elective course.

Class information

The EMS Professions Program is an intensive three semester program.  Students are required to attend class two days a week as well as 60 hours of clinical rotations the last two semesters.  Students must complete a background check, drug test, and physical.  Flu vaccines are mandatory.
