Useful resources for Sociology students

Here are some resources for learning more about sociology and careers in sociology:

Class information

I regularly teach 4 courses here at BSC:

  • Introductory Sociology (SOCI 1101)
  • Introduction to Social Problems (SOCI 1160)
  • Social Psychology (SOCI 2215)
  • Introduction to Marriage and the Family (SOCI 2293)

All these courses are designed to introduce students to the discipline of sociology and its substantive areas of study including theory and methodology.  These courses are regularly taught in either a face-to-face format, Hybrid, or completely online.  They are designed to cover key concepts and theories and to spur discussion to help students see how the sociological perspective can be useful in their own lives.
